VIP Testing Information

This page is intended to give general information about the annual Georgia Milestones Assessments that are required by the Georgia Department of Education and Newton County Schools Virtual Instructional Program.

WHO: VIP students in Grades 4-8 and High School students taking a course with an EOC (for the 25-26 school year, Algebra: C&C, Biology, US History, Literature and Composition II).

High school students who take one of these four courses via Credit Recovery also have to re-take the EOC assessment.

WHEN: April 21, 2026 - May 7, 2026.  Newton County Schools testing calendar can be accessed from this webpage: NCS Calendars.  Individual grade and subject area calendars are as follows:

Tests begin shortly after the school day starts, and are students are typically on campus for 1-3 hours.  Your VIP teacher will communicate any specific information regarding drop off and pick up. Please contact the  VIP office for assistance 678-625-6826.

WHERE: VIP students test at their zoned schools.  If you are uncertain to what school your student is zoned , please call the VIP office for assistance 678-625-6826 (press 5 for VIP).

WHAT: VIP students will need to report on the scheduled day, on time, and with their school-issued Chromebook, charged and with their charger.  

REMINDER: As part of your Commitment for Success agreement, parents/guardians and students agree to participate in the Georgia Milestones Assessments in order to continue to be enrolled in VIP.  Failure to follow through on this commitment may result in a denial of future enrollment in VIP.
